Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
Loune is a personal wellness application designed for women. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the app.
2. Information We Collect
Account information includes your name, email, and password hash. When you use Apple or Google sign-in, we receive identity information they make available. We collect cycle dates, symptoms, mood, wellness check-ins, journal entries, dietary preferences, GLP-1 medication and dose text, injection date/time, appetite, selected symptoms, protein, and optional weight that you choose to enter. Oura and Fitbit may provide activity, sleep, and heart-rate-related metrics. Apple Health is read-only: selected resting and latest heart rate, HRV, steps, active energy, exercise minutes, standing hours, and sleep data is read on your device. Sleep samples are processed temporarily on the device to calculate a daily duration; only the resulting daily snapshot is uploaded to Loune. Loune never writes to Apple Health. Meal photos and selected profile photos are stored in private object storage, not publicly accessible. Meal images are sent to Google Gemini to identify visible food; temporary drafts are kept privately up to 24 hours unless saved or discarded. We also collect Circle posts, replies, reports, blocks, moderation records, device/usage information, push tokens and notification preferences, and RevenueCat subscription identifiers and entitlement status.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and personalize wellness features, cycle predictions, GLP-1 Support, Circle moderation, subscriptions, notifications, security, troubleshooting, and service communications. We do not sell or rent personal or health data, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for third-party advertising.
4. AI Processing & No Medical Advice
OpenAI may receive Coach messages and relevant context for Coach responses and personalized daily readings, such as cycle phase, goals, recent symptom names, today’s protein/hydration, most recent injection time, and aggregate meal information. Google Gemini may receive first name, cycle phase/day, recovery-score information, or meal images you choose to analyze for personalized messages and scans. We do not add medication name, dose, appetite, weight, meal photos, specific food names, or source IDs to structured Coach context; text you send is part of your message. Before these providers are used, Loune asks for an explicit AI data-sharing choice. You may decline and continue using non-AI features, and change the choice in app settings. These providers are used solely to operate features. AI output is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment; do not use it to change medication or delay professional care.
5. Sharing & Storage
We use Replit for hosting/database infrastructure, private object storage for images, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Spoonacular for recipe and meal-plan discovery, RevenueCat, notification delivery services, and Oura/Fitbit as needed for connected integrations. Recipe searches, chosen cuisine, mealtime, cooking-time or dietary-style filters, and recipe IDs needed to view details or calculate weekly groceries are sent to Spoonacular. Grocery lists, ingredient strings, Loune account, cycle, and health profiles are not sent with these requests; search terms you choose to type may themselves be sensitive. These providers process information needed for their services. Data is stored in PostgreSQL on Replit infrastructure; passwords are hashed and communications use HTTPS/TLS. We may also disclose information when required by law.
6. Your Choices, Retention & Deletion
You may correct account information, disconnect wearables, and delete your account and associated app data in the Me tab. Deletion is permanent and irreversible and includes GLP-1 records, Circle posts/reports/blocks/moderation records, and account images, subject to technical backup cycles and retention required by law. We retain data while an account is active and as needed for legal obligations, disputes, and agreements. We do not promise a specific deletion timeframe or data export. Account deletion does not cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions; cancel those through the store separately.
7. Children, Changes & Contact
Loune is not for anyone under 18. We may update this policy and change the effective date. For privacy requests, safety reports, or support, email support@loune.app.
